2021年3月10日 · Conn 6M is in my opinion the best alto sax ever made. Yes, the keywork is different than the Selmer style, but in my opinion it's superior. The French designed their left hand spatula according to a theory that all the finger actions should be the same, but their theory conveniently disregarded the way the actual anatomy of the human hand works.

2015年3月19日 · I prefer the New York neck 6M sound over the regular 6M's, including the VIII 6M. A NY neck Conn is one without the microtuner. They all have a positive feel to them and, yes, they do feel different than, say, a Selmer MKVI. It's all in what you get used to. You can grow to like the Conn's keywork if you focus more on the music than your fingers.

2015年9月7日 · I briefly owned a 1930's 6m Conn transitional. Found the left hand pinky keys difficult but loved the tone, played a Conn from 1960 for school years and into college. The later 6m's with under slung octave, no microtuner and straight tone holes (1950?), are they as good as the earlier years? Did...
CONN 6M, WHICH MOUTHPIECE? | Sax on the Web Forum
2006年10月20日 · I have a 1935 Conn 6M. I have better intonation with the smaller chamber mouthpieces on the Conn 6M. Rosseau Studio Jazz 5, Brillhart ebolin and Vandoren V16 A5S have the best intonation. Meyer 6S has the most complex tone with intonation almost as good as the first three. Meyer 5M and 6M intonation are slightly out a bit as is Vandoren A45 ...

2015年9月17日 · The suggestion above to play a larger chambered piece (med large would work too) is a good one for the Conn 6M, .....one w/ a lower baffle and in a moderate tip size (5 or 6 tip....maybe .068 to .075 or so at most), and start with a 2 or 2 1/2 strength reed.

2024年10月1日 · Yet it is an interesting question for those vintage horn guys and gals on SOTW, and Selmer Super Sax. Vs Conn 6m alto’s are less discussed than the famed Tenors… I have a chance to pick up a 6M from an absolute gentleman on SOTW, but I am a mindful that shipping ends the life of some horns… and then I will still need a great tech..

2021年1月6日 · I tried it against a 6M same mpc and reed. Conn more focused and brighter, 140 sweeter. Both vintage ergos and fine, intonation similar. I wish I also had the Conn. The most interesting thing was the 6M owner had the bass clarinet/mpc that was used in Bugs Bunny cartoons. He made it sound like the moody ironic recordings used in those toons.
