Between Beaumont and Houston, CPKC trains use UP's directional running, where northbound trains run on the Beaumont Sub, and southbound trains run on the Sunset Route. CPKC operates about 32,000 kilometres (20,000 mi) of rail across Canada, Mexico and the United States. [17] As of April 2023, CPKC has around 20,000 employees. [17]
