The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) confirmed the oxidation states of Cu (+1) and Te (−2) in Cu 2 Te NPs. The band gap of Cu 2 Te NPs is determined from Tauc’s plot as 2.03 eV, suitable as a visible photocatalyst.
