Cui Ruzhuo, sometimes known as Cui Ru-2huo, (born 1944) [1] is a Chinese painter and calligrapher. [2] He has won many awards, [ 2 ] and he was found in 2016 to be the third most successful living artist based on secondary market sales.

Cui Ruzhou is a contemporary Chinese ink painter. Employing traditional imagery and techniques, Cui’s compositions of Chinese mountain landscapes are rendered through the method of historical Literati painting. He applies several thin layers of ink wash to paper, which is then further defined by darker lines to create complex, meditative works.

Cui Ruzhuo (Chinese, b.1944) is a Contemporary ink painter known for his images of flowers, birds, and landscapes. Born in Beijing, Cui studied under prolific painter and calligrapher Li Kuchan. He then served as a teacher at the Academy of Arts and Design in Beijing, before moving to the United States in 1981.

Cui Ruzhuo transformed ink brush painting to finger painting with his unique style and philosophy. Such a transformation not only requires a different set of painting skills, but also a new frame of mind. Many of his small paintings of flowers and birds, figure and landscape reflect the unique beauty of this genre.
