It seems like this weapon is meant to represent the fictional CZN-M22 used in the 1995 film, which was primarily based on the FN P90. Despite being identified as a submachine gun, the props used for the film presumably still fired 5.56x45mm NATO intermediate cartridges, rather than handgun cartridges.

The CZN-M22, a bullpup assault rifle used by Kusanagi, is fictional, but also displays the CZ (Česká Zbrojovka) logo inside its case. Some subtitles also fail to translate the maker of Togusa's revolver correctly, calling it a "Matever" instead of "Mateba".

This is Kagura's 7th weapon, the CZN-M22 An SMG that can also load high-mac ammunition; in this mode it has monstrous recoil, but Kagura can steady the gun with her cybernetics tightening the spread and managing recoil at the cost of stamina.

The CZN-M22 is Section 9's standard issue weapon. It appears to be a direct descendent of the FN P90 and like its predecessor it is chambered to the 5.7mm round. It features a selector switch that allows you to choose between single shot, three round bursts and full-auto.
