There are both SOHC and DOHC ZC engines. The non-VTEC SOHC ZC is similar to the D16A6 ('91–'96) and D16Y4 ('96–2000) engine, but with more aggressive cam timing. The SOHC VTEC ZC is similar to the D16Z6 ('91–'96). The DOHC ZC is similar to the D16A1, D16A3, D16A8, D16A9 and D16Z5 engines.

2008年5月28日 · d16a8/9, d16z5 are DOHC, D series motors. The DOHC motor stamped "ZC", is the Japanese market equivalent. Same motor, different stamping due to region it was marketed in.

The D16A9 and D16Z5 have two overhead camshafts (DOHC), while all other D16 engines are SOHC engines. The D16A9 has in contrast to all other engines also no catalyst, resulting in the 7 hp performance difference compared to the otherwise identical D16Z5 result.

2007年1月2日 · The DOHC head will go onto the 88+ SOHC block, but you've gotta "drag" one of the head bolt/stud mounting holes over in the DOHC head. The cheapest way to verify what I'm talking about is to get ahold of a D16A1 head gasket and any 88+ SOHC D head gasket.
