The D1 Grand Prix (D1グランプリ, D1 guranpuri), abbreviated as D1GP and subtitled Professional Drift, is a production car drifting series from Japan.

In 2006 the D1 Grand Prix championship, a drifting motor racing competition, comprised eight rounds held in Japan and the United States. The overall winner was Nobushige Kumakubo. There was also a D1 Street Legal competition run over seven rounds in Japan, and national competitions in Malaysia and the United Kingdom.

Hubinette in the Dodge Viper was matched up against Gittin in the Ford Mustang for a heavyweight battle. Gittin claimed "Although I believe I had no big mistakes, it was enjoyable to battle Sam in a high speed rough fight". Although S.Yoshioka performed brilliantly on the solo round, he crashes into Sakuma during the chase round.

I've recently beaten the 2004 version's survival mode, which gives you Tarzan's Viper, which despite being an FD car, doesn't appear in later releases.
