Summary: The DCS100 was the workhorse of the advanced Digitrax starter sets for almost two decades. Originally part of the Chief starter set (1996 – 2000), the Chief II (2000 – 2005) and its successor the Super Chief (2005 – 2009) and finally the Super Chief Xtra (2009 – 2016) sets.

To make the system easily luggable for the planet-roving photojournalist, a custom nylon hip pack and an enormous hard case were thrown in for free. After the launch of the Kodak Professional DCS 200 IR digital camera, a magazine reviewer named this camera the DCS 100. Although never official, the name stuck, even within Kodak. [1]
