A friend gave me a broken 386 and after going though it and getting it working, I am wondering if it might be wise to add a transformer on the input. I haven't traced it out myself to confirm Bushy's trace of the circuit but it looks like its using a 4580 op amp for the first stage of amplification. This would seem to give us questionable CMRR.

2008年6月25日 · I'm trying to connect my dbx 386 tube preamp to my E-MU 1212m sound card using S/PDIF. I've bought the proper cable to use and connected it from the dbx 386 S/PDIF out to the 1212m's S/PDIF in. I've messed with the session settings in the 1212m's Patchmix, but I still can't get any sound on my computer to come in from the S/PDIF in.

If I were to send the the signal from the 2-610 with the balanced XLR outs into my dbx 386 Tube Preamp balanced XLR balanced ins, then used the S/PDIF out on my dbx into my Emu-1212m sound card, would I still be able to get the Universal Audio 2-610 tone? or would running it through the dbx 386 kill the tone or possibly make it better?

iv'e had my dbx 386 for some time now and i am still having trouble getting it to sing to my e-mu 1818 interface. there is no input in my S/PDIF dsp channel. Cubase clock source is set to S/PDIF but sample rate changes from the dbx don't affect the rate in cubase.

2021年5月1日 · Hi all, I hope the is the right place for this question... I have a dbx 386 connecting to a MOTU 828 Mk2 via S/PDIF. Am I better off connecting to the 828 with analog cables and thus allowing the 828 to handle the d/a conversion? I've read that the 828 has "very nice" converters however I've not the expertise to make that judgment.

The 286a is not a stereo device, it is a mono channel strip. You may have meant the 386, or the 586.

NEED HELP with broken channel on dbx 386. bentothesmith 5 June 2012 I am not experienced in this area, but there are no places within a 2.5 hour drive to take this thing to.

2001年9月25日 · dbx 386, HHB Radius10, Presonus MP20 or ART Tube Pre Amp System or DIO Tube Pre Amp System. Thanks. Skip the dbx, run from the HHb, try the Presonus (I've heard good things), try the ART that was the first outboard pre we ever had. I still like for some things.
