Decatur Island is one of the San Juan Islands in Washington state, USA. Located just east of Lopez Island across Lopez Sound and just south of Blakely Island across Thatcher Pass, it is 3.524 square miles (9.127 km²) in area, and was named by the Wilkes Expedition in 1841 for naval officer Stephen Decatur .

Decatur Island is mainly made up of private communities. There is one public boat ramp, and a nearby day-use beach. This sparsely populated Island is fun to explore on foot, just be careful of property lines, some locals feel very strongly about privacy.

Decatur Island is the first island on the left that you pass while on the Washington State ferries. You can't see much from the ferry, but Decatur has a lot to offer if you're lucky enough to visit. The island is very rural with narrow tree-lined roads, and varied topography.
