On the Trans-Canada Highway, the sculpture serves as an entry marker to the City of Calgary. It is located at the base of Olympic Park. The artwork celebrates of the geological history of the region, as part of the Earth’s ancient and contemporary environment, which affects us all. The stone is elevated, ‘floating’, to signify its importance.

1993年8月1日 · Clavis Tower is part of my Stone Carriage series exploring a logical connection between humanity and nature. This steel “New York” tower incorporates a regional bluestone slab. The “natural” stone is elevated and held in precarious balance within an industrial structure. The focus is on the importance of the stone within a social context.
