2005年12月9日 · DiscMounts design allows you to eliminate rebalancing or tension adjustments when moving between heavy and light eyepieces – and not at the sacrifice of ease of motion. Because of the large disc assembly used to provide friction for the bearings, locking the axis becomes unnecessary when changing eyepieces - and the scope will stay on target!

Rigidly handles up to 20 pound telescopes. 44.5” Tall opened (add 3” to center of DM-4 Alt. Axis), 45.5” closed to top of Tripod Base. Weight limit for ridged mounting of telescope 25 lbs (can very depending on length and diameter of telescope). Load weight limit 100 lbs with straps installed.

Material: All aluminum is 6061-T6 hard coat anodized and machined to close tolerance from sold blocks. All hardware, shafts, and ball bearings are made from stainless steel. Please note this can change up or down depending on the telescope and the highest magnification required.

2024年4月23日 · My DM4 with Discmounts original wood tripod and extention was not adequate for anything but low power sweeping with my 130GT. I only use it now for my 6" F5 richfield refractor at 20-50x where it works splendidly.

2022年8月14日 · I’ve decided to buy a DiscMounts DM-4 as a companion for the DM-6 that I’ve owned for about a decade. The DM-6 on a Berlebach Planet has been my favorite alt-az mount/tripod combo for a long time, and it’s a definite keeper, but it’s quite heavy and really overkill for my lighter refractors.
