Doyon Utilities owns and operates the utility infrastructure that provides service to three military facilities in Alaska. We operate a total of 12 utility systems at Fort Wainwright, Fort Greely and JBER Richardson.

Following the transition period, in August of 2008, DU officially took over ownership, operations and maintenance of the twelve utilities the contracts encompass. These contracts are both the largest and most complex ever awarded by the Department of Defense.

DU’s Fort Greely site operates four separate utilities on the Post: Electrical Distribution System (EDS). The Fort Greely EDS includes overhead and underground distribution feeders, associated equipment, and street lighting.

DU’s JBER team of utility fitters, operators, and electrical tradesmen operates four utilities: electric distribution, natural gas distribution, water treatment and distribution, and wastewater collection.

Doyon Utilities’ Design and Construction Standards provide technical guidance for engineers and contractors. The Standards apply only to Doyon Utilities’ projects at Fort Wainwright, JBER Richardson, and Fort Greely.
