But don’t think that he’s afraid to turn wrenches and upgrade his bike. Morris has had many videos over the years, showing how to better-equip your DR for the dirt (here, for example). For another perspective, see SKIDS n STUFF’s take below. Helpfully, he shares cheap-as-free tips, but also advice on more expensive updates.
Why The DR650 Still Makes Sense For 2025 - Adventure Rider
The DR’s price tag has climbed a bit in recent years and is the same as the recently-updated street-friendly KLR650 (which has fuel injection, a much larger gas tank and a much more comfortable seat). The DR is actually more expensive than the Honda XR650L, which offers better off-road performance for $6,999 MSRP.
The DR650 Highway Touring Thread - Adventure Rider
2011年3月26日 · The BMW 650's are nice ... but are 60 lbs. heavier and double the price ... plus have a litany of problems. There is a reason the big DR650 thread has over 6 million posts. The guy on the K1300S was stunned that all three DR650's left him behind on the slippery wet roads going over this Sierra Pass.
The Myth of DR650 Reliability? - Adventure Rider
2017年3月30日 · The DR 650 is a very common bike on ADVrider, so you are going to hear a lot of good and bad stories about them. KLR 650s also get quite a few good and bad stories, once again because they are so prolific on the site. I personally don't own one, and have only owned an earlier 91 model DR 650.

2008年4月17日 · My question is in regard to tire size for my 2008 DR 650. I just ordered a Shinko 244 rear tire in 5.10X17. I went to pick up tubes at my local dealer today and the guy at the parts counter told me that the 5.10 was too wide and that I should have ordered the 4.60 instead. It seems to me that I read somewhere on here that the 5.10 is recommended.

DR650 vs. DRZ400S - Adventure Rider
2006年8月8日 · Cruising at 75 - 85 mph is easy for the DR's engine and it feels comfortable, stable and smooth. In the slow twisties, a DR (with minor modifications) will hang with, and in some cases embarrass a sport bike (as will a KLR). I've seen it many times. Of course the sportbikes will smoke the DR on a straight. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
Should I consider a Suzuki DR 650? - Adventure Rider
2009年10月3日 · I stopped in the local Suzuki/Honda/Yamaha shop yesterday to pick up some parts and noticed a brand new DR 650 on floor, MSRP was $7k. I never really paid much attention to these bikes before , I rode 2-strokes for decades and for the last few years have been riding dual sport on a WR250R.
My DR650 Review - Adventure Rider
2002年1月21日 · Trails that would have been easy on the WR450 were causing clenching on the stock DR 650. A 14 tooth front sprocket is a must for all I think. Even lower gearing (14/45) will be required in nasty rocky terrain. I used roughly 1/3 or less (eyeball estimate) of the Aqualine Safari on the 185 mile trip. This trip was perfect for the DR's ability ...
