Evolutionary history and divergence times of Odonata …
2021年11月19日 · Here we present a transcriptome-based phylogenetic reconstruction of Odonata, analyzing 2,980 protein-coding genes in 105 species representing nearly all the order’s families. All damselfly and most dragonfly families are recovered as monophyletic. Our data suggest a sister relationship between dragonfly families of Gomphidae and Petaluridae.
Newly Found Dragonfly Fossils is Linked To Climate Change
2019年11月23日 · Rare fossilized dragonflies were found, and they flitted about the area that is now known as Kamloops, and they have been given scientific names, which is a first for British Columbia.
202-Million-Year-Old Damsel-Dragonfly Fossil Unearthed in UK
2023年10月27日 · The new find suggests that Liassophlebiidae — a small extinct family of damsel-dragonflies known from the Early Mesozoic of Europe, Asia, and Antarctica — arose in the immediate aftermath of the Triassic-Jurassic mass extinction. An artist’s impression of Liassophlebia sp., resting on a frond of the paleofern species Phlebopteris muensteri.
Rare dragonfly fossils could teach us about climate change
2019年11月12日 · Rare dragonfly fossils dating from about 50 million years ago show how life recovered after the mass extinction of the dinosaurs and could benefit our understanding of climate change.

2024年4月22日 · The research team have assigned the fossil to the genus Liassophlebia, a type of dragonfly that is currently known to have lived from the Late Triassic to the Upper Jurassic (approximately 209 million years ago to 190 million years ago).
First fossil dragonflies from B.C. identified and named
2019年11月5日 · Paleontologists say these fossils can now help us understand the ancient history of these insects in our region. Six fossil dragonfly species, dating from about 50 million years ago, are the first from British Columbia and Washington to receive scientific names.
WFS News: Reconstructing the dragonfly and damselfly family tree
2021年11月1日 · In newly published study, researchers including a member of the University of Tsukuba have applied transcriptomics, a type of gene sequencing, to reconstruct the phylogeny of the insect order Odonata. By calibrating this sequencing using the fossil record, they have been able to determine when dragonflies and damselflies first emerged.
