2011年12月28日 · But installing the axle is eeeeeaaaaasy if the perch bolts come out. If not take the whole front end out and start the heat and cool method to get the perches out. Be patient or you'll cost yourself alot of heartache and money. If you are going over a 2" drop and have the mechanical brakes on it you are better off converting to juice ones.

2020年7月19日 · My post was referring to the 37 axle you mentioned. I would use the 36 axle and have Sid drop it with no stretch for a 46 1/2" length. Quote in first post; If a guy were to build a period axle, I would think a 37-41 axle, dropped, un-stretched, polished, filled and chromed with matching chrome F1 backing plates would be right on track.

2011年11月28日 · Mounted a 5" axle on a 46 this summer. The axle i had was almost 4" narrower tha the original axle. and that was good since it made it possible to steer around corners. Dont think you can find an dropped axel with original width. I Did a 42 some years ago and got a 2 " in narrower axle with spring from Posie. So contact them the know what works

2011年1月21日 · Back in the day, as they say, most all dropped axles where made from Ford axles from '28 to '34. It was common to find Moadel A axles with a 3" dropp and '32 to '34 axles with a 2 1/2" drop.

2012年8月7日 · The whole reason for the request is the fact I hooked too hard and bent the front axle upon re-entry. (And the wheelie bars going up) The Scout has had the 5" drop axle under it since the late 60's early 70's and that's the path I will continue to follow with it. Cheers
