The Flag is a base building item in DayZ. It is used to complete the Flag Pole and when raised prevents objects in a 60 meter radius from despawning. A Flag can and also be cut up for three Armbands with the same pattern as the original flag. Currently there are 33 different variants that can spawn (see Gallery).

The Flag Pole is a craftable base structure in DayZ. When fully built with a Flag attached and hoisted, all items in a 60-meter radius within a storage container will not despawn (object lifetime values will be refreshed). The flag position will slowly lower over time but can be easily hoisted or lowered by the player.

One set of items that can be found in Livonia trace their origins to Chernarus and these are flags that ordinarily would be unique to Chernarus. Reflecting this movement of items, those flags can now be found in Livonia.

Flag Dayz: Flags in DayZ come with many patterns on and is considered an uncommon item available in DayZ. It helps players as they can be cut into armbands to identify squad members, used as rags if you or someone else is bleeding, and is used with the flagpole to prolong the time items stay persistent in DayZ.
