2017年5月9日 · Cimbasso is fun in a band as more of an alternative color and perhaps a downward extension to the trombone section sound. Though it works best on the tuba part, in a band, it should be considered an 'addition' to the tuba.

2023年1月1日 · A modern cimbasso (indeed pronounced CHIMbasso) is a contrabass valve trombone with a bend in the middle. Not just trombone-adjacent, it is literally a trombone! Just a very odd one. They are made in all 4 tuba keys (F, Eb, CC, BBb) but are usually in F.

Should I create a non transposing bass cleff staff for the Cimbasso? Hello Adriaan! We recorded the most common Cimbasso in F. Even though it is in F, it is non-transposing anyway. So there is no need to create a new instrument.
