E6B - Wikipedia
The front side of the flight computer is a logarithmic slide rule that performs multiplication and division. Throughout the wheel, unit names are marked (such as gallons, miles, kilometers, pounds, minutes, seconds, etc.) at locations that correspond to the constants that are used when going from one unit to another in various calculations.
E6B Made Easy: A Beginner’s Step-by-Step Guide
2025年2月1日 · The E6B is a mechanical slide rule that helps pilots make calculations useful for flight planning. Use the slide rule side to calculate time, speed, fuel, and air density calculations. Learn how to use the wind side to find groundspeed and wind correction angles.
Mastering the Mechanical E6B in 20 Minutes
2014年9月24日 · The front side of the E6B is essentially a circular slide rule with three separate scales. These scales are named and highlighted below: SCALE A – The outer scale marked in red has a few purposes. It provides a way to input and reference data with pointers (kind of like the buttons on a calculator).
Nicola Marras: the E6B flight computer slide rule
The E6B Fkighr Computer slide rule was the only calculator onboard the airplanes until the mid-1970s. Conceived in 1600 for maritime navigation, it came to trace the routes of the Jumbo Jet. Let's see the E6B instructions for multiplication, division and all necessary conversions for the pilots and let's build a paper one with a simple template.
Your ASA E6-B Flight Computer has two main parts: a circular slide rule side for making quick calculations, and a wind side for computing ground speed and wind correction angle. The slide portion of the circular slide rule side also includes quick-reference material. The term “circular slide rule” shouldn’t be intimidat-ing.
E6B practice
2024年3月1日 · This is a free mini-app from David Megginson for fellow afficionados of the classic aviation E6B circular sliderule (or for student pilots still forced to learn to use it). You can solve practice problems for either the wind side or the calculator side.
Part I - E6B Flight Computer Slide Rule -- How it Works
2011年1月16日 · The video explains how the slide rule of an e6b or similar mechanical flight computer works. An actual slide rule is built from scratch and the principles be...
How to Use a Pilot Watch - Matthew Kudija
2020年9月25日 · This is a brief tutorial for performing basic computations using the E6B flight computer on a pilot watch. What is an E6B? An E6B flight computer is a circular slide rule used by pilots to make common aviation calculations. A pilot watch typically contains a simplified version of a full E6B like the one shown below.
Using the E6-B Flight Computer - Max Aero
The E6-B is a circular slide rule on the front side, or ‘computer’ side, and a wind triangle calculator on the ‘wind’ side. ASA’s manual for the E6-B provides detailed instructions with pictures of each calculation that can be performed. The flight computer can be used to solve dozens of aviation math calculations.
