2022年7月13日 · I am doing a 70mm edf fan to 90mm edf fan conversion in a jet. But inorder to make it fit, I will need to grind off the lip of the edf fan unit. Is this an absolutely wrong thing to do, as in it would cripple the plan badly ?

2013年3月27日 · The lip allows the incomming air to flow around the edge of the fan without turbulating..with out the lip the air will trip over the edge and cause a turbulant wake which will make the fan think the intake is smaller diameter than it really is.

2014年8月12日 · Since most of the Dr. Mad Thrust 90mm 12 Blade EDFs now use housings and the one piece RCLander 12B rotor which we now know is made by Haoye, I open this thread to discuss these fans and their performance. Having used the the 10S, 1000kv version for quite a while in the Taft Viper, I saw that a new 12S, 700kv version was out.

2020年8月24日 · The sharp edge around the EDF intake causes turbulence and reduced performance. You want a nice rounded intake lip like this , with a lip radius of at least 6% of the fan diameter. This will improve static thrust by a large amount.

2014年11月9日 · The rounded intake lip on the EDF-55 is for designs that doesn't use internal ducting. As for intake and exhaust area, this is based on the Fan Swept Area (FSA). This is the area that the rotor/prop occupies in the duct/shroud while spinning, minus the area taken up by the hub/spinner.
