The BL20-2 was EMDs second attempt to break into the rebuilt locomotive market (the first was the GP15-1). The took the frame of a first generation Geep (7, 9, 18, etc), and added and GP60 style carbody over it. The prime-mover is interesting.

EMD's timing was bad. Here is a shot of the BL20-2 that the late Gordon Cannon founder of Cannon and Company spent the better part of ten years working on before his passing. It remains in this state as memorial to his skills.
