This includes the East German Karabiner-S, the Polish ksS and the SKS clones made in Vietnam and North Korea. East German models are distinctive due to their K98-style sling slot in the stock, and they were only produced for two or three years. Very few were ever imported into the U.S. and most examples are Vietnam bringbacks.

This sling is primarily used on the East German AK but can also be found on the East German DDR stamped SKS's. These guns are marked with a 1 in a triangle on the forward left side of the receiver near the serial number. This sling measures 60" long by 1 3/8" wide. The color is a blue grey and the material is woven similar to the Russian slings.

2010年10月3日 · The limited information out there on the East German SKS commonly states that it is a copy of the Russian SKS. I did not find that to be true. For comparison, I took some pics of my '54 Tula that I had fitted into an East German Parade Rifle replica. Some notable differences. Front sight/bayo block.

2018年11月8日 · One of the rarest patterns of the SKS is the East German type – the Karabiner-S. Total production quantity is not known, but their survival rate is quite low and most of the examples in the US are Vietnam War bring backs. At any rate, the Karabiner-S is not quite an exact copy of the standard SKS.
