The Department of Economics was founded in 1996 and operated for the first time the academic year 1998-1999. The Department's mission is to promote knowledge and research in the subject of Economics. Minimum duration of study: eight (8) academic semesters.

The School of Economics and Management Science was founded in 2018 with the integration of TEI Epirus into the University of Ioannina (Law 4559/2018) and consists of the Department of Economics based in Ioannina and the Department of Accounting and Finance based in Preveza.

Our Department’s purpose is to cultivate and develop the Science of Economics, while training Economists capable of studying and applying economic theories in order to contribute to the prediction of economic phenomena and develop productive activities.

Το Τμήμα Οικονομικών Επιστημών του Πανεπιστημίου Ιωαννίνων ιδρύθηκε το 1996 με το Π.Δ. 364/1996 (Φ.Ε.Κ. 235/Α/20.09.1996) και λειτούργησε για πρώτη φορά το ακαδημαϊκό έτος 1998-1999. Αποστολή του Τμήματος είναι η προαγωγή της γνώσης και της έρευνας στο γνωστικό αντικείμενο της Οικονομικής Επιστήμης.

2025年2月18日 · Η Σχολή Οικονομικών και Διοικητικών Επιστημών ιδρύθηκε το 2018 με την ένταξη του ΤΕΙ Ηπείρου στο Πανεπιστήμιο Ιωαννίνων (Νόμος 4559/2018) και αποτελείται από το Τμήμα Οικονομικών Επιστημών με έδρα τα Ιωάννινα και το Τμήμα Λογιστικής και Χρηματοοικονομικής με έδρα την Πρέβεζα.
