FORMER fugitive Edmond Sae has been acquitted on Wednesday of the murder of the former Police Commissioner Sir Frederick Soaki in 2003 at Auki Motel in Auki, Malaita. Justice John Brown had Sae acquitted due to the inconsistencies of the evidences of the Crown witnesses.

The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) is appealing the High Court decision that acquitted Edmond Sae of former police commissioner Sir Fredrick Soaki’s murder. DPP Ronald BeiTalasasa told the Solomon Star he lodged the appeal with the High Court, Friday.

MURDER accused Edmond Sae has been committed to stand trial at the High Court, yesterday. This followed a short form preliminary inquiry conducted into his case at the Rove prison before Principal Magistrate Augustine Aulanga.
