2014年6月23日 · FG7 has never been published but uses NaCl formed by uses HCl and NaOH in the developer so in some ways is similar to Microdol/Perceptol. FG-7 is said to be based on Champlin #16. This has some credence since Edmund Lowe the founder of Edwal said that this was the only developer in Champlin's book that was worth anything.

2021年7月29日 · Edwal FG-7 is long gone. It was a great all-around developer, but unfortunately, they stopped making it a while back. If you're looking for something similar, I’d say HC-110 is probably your best bet. It’s a little more concentrated, but gives nice sharpness and low grain.

Replacements for Edwal FG-7 & Neofin Blue
Two of my most favorite developers that I once used pre 2000, I believe have been discontinued years ago: Edwal FG-7 and Neofin Blue. Neofin Blue is listed on Freestyle Photo's website but with the addition of "This item is no longer available". Edwal FG-7 discontinued many years ago as far as I can determine.

FG7 to my knowledge is not discontinued. It is distributed by Omega Brandess, which bought the Edwal line, formulas and name rights from the previous owner BKA.

2002年9月20日 · I have little experience with the wide range of developers available, so take this with a grain of salt: FG7 works well with HP5/Tri-X. Moderate grain, moderate range of tones with film rated at ISO 400. If you add Sodium Sulfite (I think I have the chemical name correct, best double check) to the developer you can get extra filmspeed.

I was interested to note that Edwal suggests using FG7 Automatic two-bath developer, using FG7 and “FG7 Solution B” — the company suggests the user see the FG7 technical bulletin.

1 part stock + 15 parts 10% sodium sulphite solution. I used FG-7 for years as my primary developer. Very predictable and versatile. I'd have to admit that it was hard to tell any advantage or clear difference from ID-11/D-76. It was especially nice with FP4+ and gave a true speed of about 80 with my gear and techniques.
