Now laid up in Alexandria following conclusion of her service as the Egyptian navy’s Tariq, HMS Whimbrel is one of only a handful of Royal Navy warships that remain from the Second World War and the only one to survive in largely original condition.

2023年6月9日 · (ENS el-Fateh (right) was formerly HMS Zenith during WWII. It was upgraded extensively with Cold War-era systems and combloc weapons and at the end differed from the WWII baseline. This photo also shows ENS Tariq (ex-HMS Whimbrel of the Black Swan class), another long-serving WWII warship in Egypt’s fleet.
