The Rook is the Caldari combat recon. While other factions' recons support two types of EWAR and often suffer from split weapons systems, the Rook is totally dedicated to ECM and missiles. It has a very respectable 7 mid slots, so is almost always shield tanked, but it must share these between ECM and tank.

2014年2月16日 · Well the Rook is very different from all other ships in EVE, in that you really don't resist tank it: it uses ECM for tank. Unless you have extremely well developed ECM skills, I'd recommend giving it a pass. The Rook is also rather anemic in the DPS department, so solo isn't ideal, as it gives the target time to call for support.

2018年3月4日 · Rooks are not that common in large scale null fleets. They are expensive compared to cheap T1/T2 EWAR frigs. So even in a battleship fleet, EWAR frigs are faster, cheaper, and can even be pressed into service as a scout. ECM itself sees use in disrupting Entosis ops, but overall other types of EWAR work better en masse.

2021年12月29日 · The Rook puts out a surprising amount of dps with HAMs and has plenty of mids for good tank and control modules. Some people use them for ratting due to the ability to not show on d-scan, e.g. in low sec plexes. The Rook is by far the most suited Recon for this.

The Rook seems to be one of the most effective PVE-able Recon ships. The Curse can hardly reach the same tank and DPS. Also depending too much on Drones is not the best idea for Sleeper sites.
