Chassis XP1 LM was the prototype that formed the basis for the five production F1 LMs that were built to celebrate McLaren's victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. After its use for testing and promotional purposes, it was retained by McLaren and today is proudly displayed on the 'boulevard' of the McLaren Technology Centre (MTC).

From September 10, 2011 — The McLaren F1 LM is, in short, a track oriented edition of the McLaren F1. The LM is based on the McLaren F1 GTR with the necessary modifications in place to allow the modified GTR to be a road legal car, however without the engine intake restrictions imposed on the GTR racing edition by racing regulations.
