Damen Naval is designing the F126 frigates to meet the German Navy’s primary requirement of providing multi-purpose combat capability to national and allied naval forces.

F126 or Niedersachsen -class frigate (Fregatte 126) is a planned German frigate class intended to replace the F123 Brandenburg -class frigates in the German Navy. The ships are to be the largest surface warships to join the German Navy since World War II.

A versatile multi-mission platform, with built-in modules, that can support self-defence and combat missions, and create maritime situation report both above and below water. Main contractor Damen Naval, together with strategic partners Blohm+Voss and Thales, design and build four F126 frigates for the Germany Navy.
