2002年7月28日 · Is the older FA91 just as strong (super hardcoat anodized finish, 70 Rockwell surface hardness)? In other words, is the FA91 just as strong/durable as the newer FAPSG1? Is it mainly to enhance appearance? Also, what about the method of trunion/barrel attachment to receiver? How strong/secure is it compared to original.

This is a Federal Arms FA91 in .308 Winchester. These rifles were built using surplus G3 parts kits on US made cast aluminum receivers by federal arms. The receiver is made from cast aluminum, with a textured black paint finish.

2008年12月8日 · I'm looking at picking up a FA91 off of a friend. It's in very good condition, and would run me $550-600 saving me around $300-350 compared to a PTR91. The price difference is huge and would be great (leaves me a good amt. of $ for ammo/mags) but I don't want a piece of junk that isn't reliable/breaks etc.

2009年7月6日 · If you do decide on the FA91 (or aluminum SAR-8, it is the exact same receiver made by the same shop - DC Industries), pay attention to the price. I've seen them listed used at within $100 or so of a new PTR and in that case I would choose the PTR.

2007年3月9日 · Well, I have two G3's with the later FA-PSG1 receiver's. These have the smooth finished sides and the full length receiver cuts for the collapsable stock. I bought the first one on purpose, shot a couple of battle packs through it and had a lot of fun, then tore it down to customize and refinish.

2010年12月27日 · I had an FA91 for about seven years. on the pro side it was very reliable with any ammo. On the con side the thing shot so far to the right I couldn't adjust the iron sights enough to get on target. Put a cheap scope on it and was finally able to zero it. 4-5 inch groups at 100 yards was the norm accuracy wise.
