The Hospital on a Land mass of 58.5 hectares was thereafter upgraded to a Federal tertiary Health institution of 300 beds and redesignated Federal Medical Centre, Owo. Administrative and Clinical activities commended in the Centre 1993 and 1994 respectively.

Federal Medical Centre Owo is a public health care centre located in Owo, a city in Ondo State, southwestern Nigeria. [1][2] The hospital, which had a land area of 58.5 hectares, was subsequently converted to a 300-bed federal tertiary healthcare facility and given the new name Federal Medical Centre, Owo.

Federal Medical Centre, Owo CMS Limited was formed in the year 1994 and registered under the Ondo State Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Co-operative Services in November 2012 with the vision of improving the welfare of members and providing a financial leverage and support for members to meet their needs.

It was formerly known as General Hospital Owo owned by Ondo State Government before it was taken over by the Federal Government in 1989. It is a tertiary hospital with different specialty units.
