The Facetmobile FMX-4 is an experimental lifting-body sport airplane built to explore the characteristics of this type of aircraft. It took 2.5 years to construct and made its first flight in 1993. Flight tests showed that the faceted, tailless configuration performed comparably to conventional aircraft using the same engine.
