There were also important character moments in battles, like (FHFY all) Fig finding her dad, Adaine confronting Aelwyn, Riz finding Penny, and Jawbone helping Adaine with her panic attacks. At the end of Freshman Year I really felt like we'd watched the group grow and that the fights had been an integral part of that story.

The absolute madness and shenanigans of the fight itself aside, the resolution of the fight is just chef's kiss Fantasy highschool fun but ending up with 2 dead teen PCs, a lunch lady bludgeoned to death with a spoon, culminating in the principle murder-suiciding resurrection spell.

Episode 2 of FHFY was Brennan's first time running combat in fifth edition D&D, and accidentally made more difficult that he was expecting and had to come up with a solution on the fly.
