2024年12月22日 · The 9K37 SA-11 Gadfly utilizes the 9S18 "Tube Arm" or 9S18M1 (NATO name "Snow Drift") target acquisition radar in combination with the 9S35 or 9S35M1 "Fire Dome" H/I band tracking and engagement radar which is mounted on each TELAR.

In general, the system identifies potential targets (radar), selects a particular target (command), fires a missile (launcher) at the target, and resupplies the system (logistics). The missiles require a radar lock to initially steer the missile to the target until the missile's onboard radar system takes over to provide final course corrections.

The new fully autonomous 9A317 TELAR is equipped with a 9S36 passive phased array antenna equipped radar, replacing the mechanically steered antenna in earlier 9S35 Fire Dome equipped TELARs. This is intended to provide the capability to concurrently engage four targets with a single TELAR, and improve countermeasures resistance.

9K317 Buk M2 / SA-17 Grizzly introduced the new Tikhomirov NIIP 9S36 passive phased array engagement radar, replacing the Fire Dome. The beamsteering parameters cited by Russian sources are consistent with a tilted fixed passive phased array.

The SA-11’s Fire Dome radar provides improved resistance to ECCM and improved tracking abilities. In Allied Force each battalion of SA-11 consists of 6 launchers each with their own FCR, 2x ACRV Command vehicles, 2x SA-14 and 2 support trucks.
