61st Infantry, Second State Color. The 61st was recruited in Pittsburgh during early fall 1861. It was composed of men from Indiana, Allegheny, Luzerne, and Philadelphia counties. The second state color was received in April 1863. The flag was retired from service in August 1864. The 61st was mustered out of service on June 28, 1865.
