The Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway (S&DJR) 7F 2-8-0 is a class of steam locomotive designed for hauling heavy coal and goods trains. Eleven were built in two batches in 1914 and 1925, and were used until withdrawal between 1959 and 1964.

Fowler gave James Clayton, the draughtsman at Derby, a free hand to design the engine, and he produced something unlike any other Derby-designed locomotive of the time. The first six of this class of engines were built at Derby in 1914. They were fitted with 4′ 9ʺ diameter Belpaire boilers and they were numbered 80-85.

Fowler 7F 0-8-0 These locomotives where intended to be an improved standardised version of the LNWR G2 0-8-0’s but proved to be a poor design due to Midland practice. They where used for hauling slow heavy mineral trains until Nationalisation when British railways began withdrawing them very quickly.

The London Midland and Scottish Railway Class Fowler Class 7F was an update of the London and North Western Railway (LNWR) G2 Class 0-8-0. The class were sometimes known as 'Baby Austins' after a motor car that was becoming popular at the time.
