Tommy Wellburn marries Mrs. Elsing ’s daughter after her fiancé is killed during the war. He sustained a leg injury that gives him a limp, but he is hardworking and honest. A member of the Ku Klux Klan, Tommy is killed along with Frank Kennedy in an attempt to murder a Black man.

Frank Kennedy (died 1868) was the second husband of Scarlett O' Hara and the father of her second child Ella. He was originally Scarlett's sister Suellen O'Hara's beau and he was engaged to her for many years before Scarlett tricked him into marriage. Frank Kennedy was described as having whiskers and looking even older than he was.

After they attack Shantytown, Tommy and Frank Kennedy are killed, leaving their wives Fanny and Scarlett as widows. Tommy appears in the film Gone With the Wind (1939), though much earlier in the story. He is seen dancing and flirting with Fanny Elsing at the Atlanta Bazaar (1861), while at this point she was still engaged to Dallas McLure.

Frank Kennedy is one of the County bachelors, though he’s older than most. When the story begins, he is Suellen ’s beau. After a long courtship, he finally proposes to Suellen during the war. Before marrying her, he starts a store in Atlanta that sells surplus army goods that have become useless to the Confederate army after the war ends.

Gone with the Wind is a novel by American writer Margaret Mitchell, first published in 1936. The story is set in Clayton County and Atlanta, both in Georgia, during the American Civil War and Reconstruction Era.
