Commonly referred to as the Field Training Officer concept (FTO) for Law Enforcement, Communications, and Corrections. This is the most widely used training model in Washington State. The WANAFTO Board meets several times annually.

NAFTO’s Basic FTO School is a nationally recognized model for preparing experienced patrol officers for a career in field training. The course focuses on the FTO themselves, and how they can improve their interpersonal and instruction skills to increase Officer in Training (OIT) retention.

Designed to help you and your agency have a successful FTO program. We specialize in the instruction of the San Jose Model or Kaminski Model of police and corrections field training programs. All of our classes are continually evaluated for best practices nationally.

The class includes: Attendees will complete a Daily Observation Report (DOR) based on a student’s performance, utilizing the Standardized Evaluation Guidelines (SEGs).
