The Funk Model B is a 1930s American two-seat cabin monoplane designed by Howard and Joe Funk. Originally built by the Akron Aircraft Company later renamed Funk Aircraft Company.

2024年11月7日 · The Funk remains nicely controllable at higher speeds, the controls stiffening up a little and the wind noise increasing but it’s all a non-event. On final I slow to sixty mph and side-slip to lose height as there are no flaps with which to go down and slow down at the same time.

2019年5月8日 · Subsequently, after the conclusion of World War II, a new model was introduced, this being the B-85C which differed only in having a 63 kw (85 hp) Continental C-85-12 engine. It also became available with a 63 kw (85 hp) Lycoming GO-145 engine.

The Funk was designed primarily around aerodynamics, the result of which is the pilot and the squat little windshield suffer. Also because of the squat fuselage line, the wing is much closer to the ground than we are used to — being barely six feet at its highest point.
