The Heckler & Koch G3 (German: Gewehr 3) is a select-fire battle rifle chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO developed in the 1950s by the German firearms manufacturer Heckler & Koch, in collaboration with the Spanish state-owned firearms manufacturer CETME. [2]

The G3KA4 is a primary weapon that appears in Far Cry 2. Utilizing the 7.62x51mm round, the G3 is a battle rifle designed by H&K in the 1950s. Its design comes from the CETME rifle, which itself is derived from the StG 45 developed late in World War II.

Chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO, fed from 20 round magazines, with collapsing stocks and automatic fire capability, the G3 KA4 became a favourite for not just the SAS but was also carried in vehicles driven by 14 Company undercover surveillance operators. For short-range sniping, the SAS armoury has included the G3 SG1.

The G3-K is the carbine version of the full size G3. K stands for Kurz, German for short. All G3-K are fitted with a retractable stock, resulting in the designation G3-KA4, although in theory a fixed stock could be fitted as well. Since the G3-K is a somewhat newer development virtually all G3-K are fitted with the wide tropical handguard.
