Ashley Martin Almanza (born 27 March 1963) [1] is a South African [2] businessman, who has been the chief executive officer (CEO) of G4S plc since 1 June 2013. [3] Almanza has a degree in Commerce and a postgraduate diploma in Accounting, both from the University of Natal, South Africa. He later received an MBA from London Business School. [3]

Career experience: Senior executive roles at BG Group from 1993 to 2012, including CFO from 2002 to 2011 and Executive Vice President from 2009 to 2012, during which he led BG Group’s UK, European and Central Asian businesses and the group’s commercial strategy in Central Asia.

In 2005, Lars Nørby Johansen was succeeded as chief executive by Nick Buckles and, in 2006, the new G4S brand identity, designed by Russell Johnson of UK design agency Stylus, was rolled out across its business worldwide. [11] .

G4S is managed through a functional and regional structure. The regional CEOs are members of the Group Executive team. G4S, part of Allied Universal®, is a global business with operations in more than 90 countries. We employ more than 800,000 people, making us one of the world's largest private employers.

He served as Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer of G4S plc from May 2004 to July 2005. Later he served as the Chief Executive Officer of G4S from 2005 to 2013. [1] . In 2011 he announced, that G4S will acquire the danish ISS A/S in a deal worth £5.2 billion. The deal was later shelved, owing to shareholder unrest. [8] .
