2011年6月23日 · Check the two capacitors on the On-Off switch (C42, C43) and the switch itself, as that is quite a lot of current going somewhere, even on the Anode side. Something is getting hot and breaking down. The smoothing capacitors may be breaking down under load by the way. Also try snipping C41. C40 may be worth a look as well.

GEC sets are very easy to date, with only one or two exceptions. Up to 1949 the first two digits of the model number are the model year. After 1950, the model year is the sum of the first two digits added to the last two digits, so:- BC5639 = (5+6)+39 = 50, so the set is 1950.
