G-Shine originated in the New York/New Jersey area and migrated along the east coast and now has sets, or sub-groups, in multiple states including New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

The G-Shine/GKB set of the Bloods street gang is in some respects emblematic of the dynamic New Jersey gang environment. This particular Bloods set was originally founded as the Gangster Killer Bloods (aka GKB), but –as many street gangs have done– chose to change its name within the past few years.
