The Pan European Game Information (PEGI) is a rating system created in April 2003 and used in continental Europe. In total, 29 European countries now use it, although it has no legal effect, except in Finland.

PEGI helps parents to make informed decisions when buying video games. PEGI provides age classifications for video games in 38 European countries. The age rating confirms that the game content is appropriate for players of certain age. PEGI considers the age suitability of a game, not the level of difficulty.
