I never used sport mode and I had 3 DSG VWs, 2 GTIs and 1 R. Sport mode was terrible. Normal mode was terrible. There really should have been something in between, but there wasn’t, so I ended up driving in manual mode +95% of the time. 2024年6月14日 · For reference: 2017 GTI sport with 64k miles. no mods except for an aftermarket exhaust I started noticing it a couple weeks ago. while driving, the EPC light would suddenly flash and then my car would go in to limp mode. After pulling over to the side I then restart my car and the EPC light goes away and I can drive normally again.

I've had a bad experience with a competing hot-hatch (2016) where the automatic transmission developed problems. How reliable, generally, is the automatic in a new GTI Sport? Can it handle the power over the course of years? If the manual offers far better reliability, then how much slower is it vs the automatic assuming good driver skills?
