
3855 – Preserved British Steam Locomotives
Built in 1942 and now located on the East Lancashire Railway. BR motive power depot allocations since 1948. After withdrawal in 1965, 3855 was sold for scrap to Woodham Brothers and entered the scarapyard at Barry in October 1965. It remained there until August 1987.

Hunslet Works No 3855 Glasshoughton No 4 0-6-0ST
This locomotive was built in 1954 for the National Coal Board by the Hunslet Engine Company to the design used to supply to the Ministry of Defence and is thus regarded as an Austerity type locomotive. See LNER class J94 for details. It was originally ordered for the Savile Colliery near Leeds on February 1953.

GWR 2800 Class No 3855 at an Unknown Location sometime in the mid 60's. The shed plate is 6C which is Croes Newydd and the loco was allocated there before withdrawal. This loco has been preserved and is currently (Dec 2010) at Bury in unrestored condition. This Pic is part of a collection from the 1960's.

2012年8月2日 · The rest of the route could take "Red" category locomotives. When the GWR took over the MSWJR in 1923 it upgraded the line to some extent. It is likely that the 2 GWR locos photographed in June 1945 (Nos 7246 and 2867) hauling a large goods train had come over the MSWJR from Swindon.

The restoration of ex GWR 2884 Class 2-8-0 No. 3855, is progressing well at the workshops at Bury on the East Lancashire Railway as its tender has been fully restored and complete and work is now focusing on the locomotive it self.
