2024年3月18日 · I had to grab a GBA BIOS for a couple different emulators myself, including an old old version of VBA and a couple like Higan that are multi system emulators, though I believe Higan uses a custom BIOS now. Even now there are a number of reasons to have the BIOS files for a given system, very few of which are strictly related to actual emulation.

2016年6月8日 · It's trivial for GBA software to just read out the BIOS, compute a SHA256 hash, and lock if the comparison fails. Since nobody can collide SHA256 sums yet, it would be impossible to run this software program without the real BIOS, short of the emulator coming out -after- the game, and cheating by hacking that game specifically by hand.

2024年3月30日 · Incorrect, on the Funkey S/Q36/RG Nano, you wont be able to play any GBA games without the bios. On other systems (meaning GBA emulators on other platforms), yes, you don't need the GBA Bios, since those emulators use it's own HLE bios, but you will find that some games may not work correctly without the official GBA Bios.

Go to GBA -> Settings and click on the Sync Settings tab. You will see three items. Set Skip BIOS to False and hit OK. BizHawk will now tell you to perform a Core Reboot. You can do so with Emulation -> Core Reboot. You have now set up the GBA BIOS w/ mGBA Core. Much fun running Wario Land 4 !

2022年8月27日 · Low volume of GBA core seems fixed GBA core has some added options as well to disable layers (0 to 3) and sprites. Not sure what the use case is here. There is now a rumble strength option added to the GB/GBC/GBA cores. Tested Pokémon Pinball with the DS Rumble Pak in, 7 clearly feels different than the default 5.

Not every emulator needs bios files to run, but some do if you want the boot-up logo for authenticity's sake or just to run at all. You will need BIOS for older arcade games, adventure games, GBA (for boot logo in most cases), NDS, PS1, and PS2.
