The GER Class G15 was a class of ten 0-4-0T steam tram locomotives designed by Thomas William Worsdell for the British Great Eastern Railway. Six passed to the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) at the 1923 grouping, and received the LNER classification Y6.

The GER Class C53 was a class of twelve 0-6-0 T steam tram locomotives designed by James Holden for the Great Eastern Railway. They passed to the London and North Eastern Railway at the grouping, and received the LNER classification J70.

To comply with the regulations that required locomotives to have cow-catchers and all moving parts enclosed, speed regulators, warning bells and much else, Worsdell produced the G15 class tram engines in 1883.

The Y6 (GER G15) 0-4-0 Tram Engines T.W. Worsdell designed these distinctive 0-4-0 steam tram locomotives for the Wisbech & Upwell Tramway, which opened in July 1883.

Ten of these GER Class G15 locomotives were built between 1883 and 1897. When rebuilt in the early 20th Century, they were fitted with the same 140psi boilers used on the newer J70s.

Jun 21, 2010 · One of the more obscure projects at Wansford, although in my opinion one of the most interesting, is the project to rebuild a Belgian Cockerill 0-4-0 tram engine into a replica of a GER Class G15/LNER Y6.
