The integrated spring enables the AK 45 to open without pressure. The valve closes as soon as the operating pressure increases to the closing pressure set.

The AK 45 automatically drains condensate from steam systems during start-up, until the pressure in the system has reached the adjusted valve closing pressure. At shut-down or when the pressure falls below the closing pressure the valve opens and accumulated condensate is automatically drained away.

AK 45 equipment is used to discharge condensate from steam in pipes during start-up. The equipment must only be used within the allowable pressure and temperature limits and only if the chemical and corrosive influences on the equipment are taken into account.
