2024年4月16日 · It turns out that the model 82 was made in 1982 and was the prototype used for testing and the Austrian Army trials that preceded the acceptance of the P80 as the new military handgun. The text differs some in how many were produced but it does appear that this was the first standard production Glock ever made.

The new Lipsey’s Exclusive GLOCK P80 was developed to give modern GLOCK enthusiasts an opportunity to acquire a piece of the company’s unique history. The concept began with Jason Cloessner, Lipsey’s Vice President & Product Development Manager, who initiated the collaboration with GLOCK some three years ago.

Lipsey’s Exclusive GLOCK P80 is a historical reproduction of the original innovative GLOCK pistol adopted by the Austrian Army in 1982. In 1981, Gaston Glock assembled a team of engineers and designed his first firearm. The result was submitted to the Austrian Army pistol trials and won the contract in 1982.

At this time, a renaming of the pistol took place: the P80 became known as the GLOCK 17. This number corresponded to its magazine capacity. Subsequently, the worldwide success story relentlessly pursued its impressive course and the 20 millionth GLOCK pistol was sold in 2020.
